Vytorin users beware. This combination of Zocor and Zetia is now causing the great majority of adverse side effects reported to me. Something about combining an already powerful statin with Zetia. I would have expected a greater tendency for Vytorin to produce a surge of cognitive side effects but instead the effects are across the board, including muscle, nerve and all the rest.

Do Not Take Vytorin

Postby Robyn » Thu Oct 20, 2005 3:50 pm

This is a copy of an email sent to Doc Graveline on July 12, 2005

Dear Doc Graveline:

I'm researching the drug Vytorin on behalf of my husband.
He was put on this drug three weeks ago after experiencing
much muscle pain with Lipitor. On Friday, his doctor called
and said he had run a muscle inflamation test and the number
was over 5,000. My husband was to go immediately to the
emergency room. It is now Tuesday and although the count
is down to 2,800, they are calling in a kidney specialist.
We have complained in the past about statin drugs and now it
is very important that we know what questions to be asking.
We are paralyzed with fear at this point. I so appreciate your
online article and hope you can give us some truthful intelligence
as to what my be ahead.

Doc Graveline was so gracious as to reply to my email and
provide us with the information needed about statin drugs.
My husband remained in the hospital for a week and was home
for a month. We are now faced with a mountain of medical bills
from heart and kidney specialists. As Lipitor and Vytorin are the
only medications my husband has ever taken we are angry at the
noncommital reaction from his doctors. The prescribing doctor told
us that he had only three patients with a similar reaction.
With thousands of doctors prescribing Vytorin, this can hardly be
considered a rare side effect.
Thank you.
Robyn

This drug, by no doubt, caused your husband's problems. I'm glad I found out before too much time went by. I think this stuff can kill people. I want it banned. I want the drug companies and doctors to stop it. Stop killing people. This is not what you are supposed to do!
