My 58 year old wife has tolerated vytorin well for the past couple of years. The only complaint she had was a dry cough. More recently she has been experiencing flushing of the face along with excessive perspiration. Can anyone relate to those symptoms?

Dry cough is a common statin side effect.

Has your wife gone through the menopause yet? Sounds like she's having 'hot flashes'.
Theraputic doses of niacin can also cause face flushing.
