I have a yearly physical coming up. I'd like the latest Oxidized LDL/HDL Ration test during this visit. Does anyone know exactly what that test is called so I can inform my doctor?

Many thanks!!

I found this link to the Shiel Medical Laboratory in New York. They claim to be the only clinical laboratory worldwide to offer the Oxidized LDL/HDL Ratio Test.

I'm curious if anyone has taken this test? And if so, where? I am in San Francisco and looking for a local lab if possible.

I mentioned the test to my doctor during my recent checkup. She looked puzzled and had no idea what I was talking about. Finally, she said, "Hmm, that sounds like some alternative thing. We don't do that." End of story. My search begins today to find another practitioner who has some understanding of oxidized ldl and isn't fixated on cholesterol numbers alone and a statin pusher.

Many thanks to anyone who has any information about this test!
