Welcome back 'roaminghermit',

It's inevitable that cholesterol levels will rise when stopping statins.
The primary (and only as far as I'm concerned) is statin's
anti-inflammatory benefit. BUT, there are other supplements that
accomplish the same benefit without the nasty side effects of statins.

Fish oil is one of the best. Krill Oil is the easiest on the digestive
track. Other beneficial nutrients: the B vitamins, folic acid, CoQ10,
vitamin C, vitamin D3, grape seed extract.

The VAP blood test measures way beyond LDL, HDL &
triglycerides. One of the most important part of the test is LDL
particle SIZE. Small particles can penetrate the arterial wall.
Large buoyant particles are much less to cause inflammation.
