Heart Surgeons Kill First Man on the Moon: Neil Armstrong

Heart Surgeons Kill First Man on the Moon: Neil Armstrong

*http://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2012nl/aug/armstrong.pdf

This Tragic Loss Should Become One Giant Leap for Mankind

Neil Armstrong, who made the "giant leap for mankind" as the first human to set foot on the moon, died on Saturday, August 25, 2012. The cause of death according to his family was "complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures." He had just celebrated his 82nd birthday when he went to the hospital on Monday, August 6, 2012 for a cardiac stress test. He flunked, and on Tuesday surgeons bypassed four blockages in his coronary arteries. This limited information from the media is enough for me to conclude that his death was avoidable; he should have never been operated on. His doctors gambled and we lost an American hero.

############ ARTICLE 2 --

The Diet Wars: The Time for Unification Is Now

Recent disagreements posted on my discussion board have left the public asking, "Why can't you experts agree?" Three giants in the field of plant-based nutrition, T. Colin Campbell, PhD, Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., MD, and Joel Fuhrman, MD have recently been involved in discussions over matters of nutritional advice and business. (See below for the discussions.)

This is just one of many examples of disagreements involving strong personalities that overshadow efforts to accomplish a greater good: saving the world and its inhabitants. Billions of people are sickened by the Western diet, the American healthcare system nears collapse, and the environment is becoming as hot as hell. Yet "Nero fiddles while Rome is burning." It is time for all of us experts to sacrifice personal goals and needs for the greater good. With mutual support we can stand strong against the real enemy: those recommending and profiting from an animal-food based diet.

An Independent Critique of Low-carb Diets:

::::::
An Independent Critique of Low-carb Diets: The Diet Wars Continue

I am Travis (full identity withheld*) and my background is a concerned person who is passionate about the scientific literature. I have been in search for truth about diet, health, and longevity for the past five years. As with most people, I once believed that progressive physical dysfunction and illness were processes of natural aging, and that my genes would decide my fate. However, I have uncovered convincing evidence to the contrary: many long-lived populations remain fully functional and active until very late in life. Their diets are all similar: ------> high in plant foods, and low in animal foods. I want to be one of these people.
|MORE| ------>>
During my journey to enlightenment on proper nutrition, I also identified a few individuals working hard to sabotage the truth. Their beliefs are recognized by names, such as, ------> low-carb diet, Paleo, Primal, and Atkins. When these ideas win, ------> people and the planet Earth suffer. One of the major efforts of believers in low-carb (high animal-food) diets has been ------> to try to discredit respected scientists and their works. For example, ---------->> Denise Minger, has spent the past several years trying to harm the reputation of T. Colin Campbell, PhD. Her writings ------> distort the science, laying traps for death and disease for the general public that listens and follows. I have carefully read and analyzed the original science. My work has documented her inaccuracies and omissions, as well as
------> untruths spread by many others in the low-carb camp.

Please consider my findings and conclusions in this first critique in a series to be published in the upcoming months in the McDougall Newsletter. If you judge my writings worthy, please share them with others. Also send questions directly to me at healthy.longevity@live.com. Your comments will also be published and questions answered in upcoming McDougall Newsletters.

*I have chosen to withhold my full identity for the time being because of my concern for my personal safety. Large amounts of money will be at jeopardy, as the truth becomes known.

Healthy Longevity: Forks Over Knives and Healthy Longevity:
A Missed Opportunity for the Cholesterol Skeptics

::::::: START:
This is the first part of a series of posts that addresses the science regarding plant based diets and the documentary Forks Over Knives and the ------> very serious inaccuracies and omissions that compromise the critiques authored by the cholesterol skeptics, in particular ------> Denise Minger.

Food Shortages, Cardiovascular Disease and All-Cause Mortality in the World Wars

In Forks Over Knives, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn described the classical findings from a paper authored by Strom and Jensen, who observed that in Norway between 1938 and 1948 there was a strong relationship between cardiovascular mortality and changes in intake of fat in the form of butter, milk, cheese and eggs, with the changes in mortality lagging behind dietary changes by approximately one year (Fig. 1).1 Denise Minger not only ignored these findings in her critique despite citing the mortality data from the same paper, but instead claimed in regards to a paper on rationing in Norway that animal foods did not decline until after cardiovascular disease mortality had already started declining.2 Denise misleads her readers by confusing the period when rationing was introduced with the period when the intake of animal foods declined. It can be deduced from the data from the Ministry of Supplies cited by Strom and Jensen that rationing was introduced as a result of a declining availability of such products, and therefore introduced after the intake of animal foods had alrea

13 MORE EVALUATION PAGES . . . . . . Etc. . . . .

ENDING:
Overall Impressions of Forks Over Knives

Overall, Forks Over Knives provides a lot of very useful information to help viewers make life saving and longevity promoting dietary changes, and best of all ------> comes directly from the doctors who have actually reversed many of the chronic diseases which are leading causes of disability and death. Ignoring the preponderance of evidence favouring a predominately plant based diet, low in saturated fat that is recommended by virtually every respected healthy authority around the world, and instead blindly following ---------->>> the unfounded dietary advice of the cholesterol skeptics can result in absurd consequences and a missed opportunity for healthy longevity.55

Top 10 "Zingers"-food choices & the presidential debates

Posted on 10/20/2012 by J. Morris Hicks

Debate season is full of zingers, gotchas, one-liners & sound-bytes

Lots of zingers, but neither candidate is talking about the most important issues in the world.

With the election only a few weeks away, I thought it was time to share a few of my favorite zingers that I use in explaining the maddening absurdity and un-sustainability of our typical western diet.

Our data show a progressive weight increase from a total vegetarian diet toward a non-vegetarian diet. For instance, 55-year-old male and female vegans weigh about 30 pounds less than non-vegetarians of similar height.

Vegetarian dietary patterns are associated with a lower risk of metabolic syndrome.

We'll never fix "disease care" until we fix the food.

And that's a huge problem. In a democratic form of government such as ours, it's almost impossible to change something as wildly popular as the Standard American Diet-even if it's killing most of our citizens, bankrupting our treasury and possibly even compromising our national security.

"Comfortably Unaware"-harm of our food choices

Postby maule5662h » Sun Aug 25, 2013 12:31 pm

Do read this Aug. 24, 2013 Blog by J. Morris Hicks re "Comfortably Unaware"

*http://hpjmh.com/2013/08/25/the-terrifying-repercussions-of-our-demand-for-meat/

Quote at the start of the article:

"The TERRIFYING repercussions of our DEMAND for meat
Posted on 08/25/2013 by J. Morris Hicks
From the well-researched point of view of another “big picture” guy

When I first began learning about the many repercussions of our food choices in 2002, I immediately wanted to understand the “big picture.” After more than ten years of studying and three years of writing and blogging about this crucial topic, I have found another “big picture” guy—Dr. Richard Oppenlander, who has been studying, writing and speaking about this topic for more than thirty years.

Like me, his background is not related to food, health, or the environment; yet he has become an expert in the big picture as it relates to our food choices. His book, Comfortably Unaware, was published in 2011 by Beaufort Books and is an incredible source of information on a plethora of issues related to what we eat. From the book’s description on Amazon:

In Comfortably Unaware, Dr. Richard Oppenlander tackles the crucial issue of “global depletion” as it relates to food choices. We should all be aware of our diet’s consequences on the environment and commit to seeking food products that are in the best interest of all living things. His stark mental images are often disturbing–and that’s how it should be. We need to be shaken out of our complacency and understand how to ensure the well-being of our planet–and of ourselves."

Etc.

Today's post -- http://www.spacedoc.com/Alzheimers-dise ... dium=email
by PhD Fred Kummerow is on the right track in pointing at bad diet as a big cause of heart and brain bad health.

His nutrition guide is no where near best:
"The diet plan that I would suggest would be to eat three balanced meals a day. Including 3 serving of protein, 5 -8 servings of fruits and vegetables, 3 servings of whole dairy products, at least one egg daily and eliminating simple carbohydrates and processed foods. Adequate amounts of sleep and exercise would also be encouraged. I then hope to continue this research with Parkinson's disease patients."

Get rid of the animal products!! OK re eliminating simple sugars and most processed foods.
Do not go the Paleo/Atkins/Grain Brain/Wheat Belly non-science-based routes!
