Omacor name changing

Postby DEgirl » Sun Jul 22, 2007 6:05 pm

In talking with one of our Pharmacutical Reps at work, it seems that "Omacor" will soon have a brand new name. Same packaging, same everything, just a different name. Also, latest is that one or two of the statins will be changing also to combine two of the "crappy statin drugs" into one. Has anyone else on the board heard this yet? I'll post later this week when I figure out "which and what" will be changing per the reps that come in to peddle their crap... I mean, statins.

Compounds of drugs often bring more complex reactions. The DBMS halted a phase 3 clinical trial of Torcetrapib/Atorvastatin in December 2006. The reason was the rise in patient deaths. The compund is clearly lethal and not well understood. Statin compunds will be designed to milk the gravy train even more.
