Cholesterol levels & Heart Disease -- Evidence?

Postby mikemix » Thu Jun 07, 2007 2:32 am

I have heard that there are studies showing that heart disease occurs just as frequent in people with low cholesterol levels (i.e. under 200) as often as people with 250-300 levels. Can anyone comment on this? Is there an actual credible study out there that suggests this?

Also, is the conclusion here that the issue is oxidized LDL in both groups? And the people who do not suffer any disease are the people who have done a good job with their diets by battling the oxidation?
