Off-topic: Lymes Disease

Postby Brian C. » Thu Apr 12, 2007 10:39 am

Pardon the intrusion but may I bring another petition to the attention of US forum visitors?

My nephew contracted this awful disease on a (very) brief visit to East Coast US a few years back. Even though treatment was delayed he fortunately survived - but at a cost. He has autism-spectrum problems and is on permanent medication.

Thank you for your time.

Brian.

IMHO, the rickettsial diseases are a very important emerging medical story with huge implications for the health of people the world over. Not just lyme, but babesia, erlichia, bartonella, Q Fever, etc.

Here's a list:

Lyme is sort of the tip of the iceberg.

In most cases, folks treated in the acute stage do OK, but if the disease goes chronic, unending misery results.

Brian C: Signed the Lyme petition. Could you tell me please, how old the petition is; how long it has been open for signatures?

Thanks,

Brooks

I don't know. Only just discovered it while researching for my sister-in-law.

I haven't seen the petition, but since the subject has been broached, here is a site with pertinent information that may be of significant value:

The proof is in the therapy, and it may be all we have.
