To Bunnylady: I was also put on the prednisone route. To date I am down to 12.5mg/day. 7.5mg in the am and 5mg in the pm. I was down to 7.5mg but could not function and the muscle pain became unbearable. Once things stablelize a little more, I am going to attempt reducing the prednisone by 1mg at a time over a two week period. When I ended up in the hospital in June/06, the doctor assigned to me informed me that prednisone eats up your calcium and Vit D. I have been taking 1000IU of Vit D and 1000 mg of Calcium per day since. Prednisone also makes you very sensitive to the sun, so that also depletes a source of Vit D.
I hope you stopped taking the second Statin!

[quote="Biologist"]Yep, I like them both too.

I read your two mitochondria links recently. That was helpful.

:) Hey, I'd repost them for you -- you being our senior member and all -- but you don't got time to read 'em now.

You got this to deal with:

BTW, have you tried the pantethine stuff that Fran suggested in that thread?

harley2ride,

Here are Fran's links on mitochondria.

By the way, I mentioned that you were the forum's "senior member" but on second thought, maybe I got that wrong. Someone is 85 years old, I think, but he may be a different poster?

I felt like I was 105 right before I stopped taking Zocor. Does that count?
