Statin page in Daily Mail 24th Jan

Postby Ray Holder » Thu Jan 25, 2007 3:30 pm

Here is the web address of a page in Daily Mail yesterday, with comments sent in. Malcolm Kendrick wrote a part of it, he has a book "The Great Cholesterol Lie" being released on 31st Jan. Sorry it's so long. there is only room for 1000 characters on the comment panel, this is just the 2nd one I sent, I expect they thought my first effort too rude, it really was!!! and justifiably so.

The last I heard, Dr Malcolm Kendrick's book has the same title as Anthony Colpo's - The Great Cholesterol Con

I posted a comment to the "Daily Mail" article also.

Hi Ray,

Let me know if the title 'stands' once your book arrives.

Hi Biologist,

'DrugIntel' used to host a website with tons of statin info, including a link to a petition, then it just disappeared. John Lehmann probably needed to confer with atty's to dot the i's and cross the t's. Good to know the site is back in business.

Malcolm Kendrick's book

Fran
Sorry to have misled you, the book came this morning and the title is "The Great Cholesterol Con". However the website from which I ordered it and also a different site both had it listed as "Lie"

I have only read the first chapter so far, it is written in his usual narrative and light hearted style, but he knows his subject very well. It is also laid out in a very readable manner, the Anthony Colpo version has small closely spaced print, and although a mine of information, is a bit indigestible.

Hi Ray,

Hope the website gets the change of name in soon, so people don't get too confused. Seems the 'lie' implied the wrong message, so the publisher would only accept 'con'.

Thanks for the info.
