Life after Crestor?

Postby Fern » Fri Oct 21, 2005 9:03 pm

Hi,
It was with great interest that I read your article about cholesterol. I took Crestor and I am still having muscle aches and pains though I quit taking it in February.

I wish I would have had the chance to read this before I started ever taking the drug. Does Crestor cause permanent muscle damage?

Thank you for such a great article, I am going to reccomend that my doctor read it.
thankyou

Good luck Fern.
Don't know how long you were taking the Crestor, but I only took it for 34 days, over 18 months ago. My condition has continued to worsen over time. I'm currently trying DHEA to see if it makes any difference. If it does, I'll sure post back my results. I've seen numerous specialists, and they are all perplexed. No one knows what to do. I've been to literally dozens of doctors, and had hundreds of tests to rule out other ailments and diseases. I figure I've lost roughly 60 - 70% of my strength, I'm tired and sore all the time, can't get comfortable, can't sleep for more than an hour, without prescription sleeping pills, have to take 10 - 12 pills a day just to get by, can't do any of the things I was doing 2 yrs ago, and most of the time I feel like I would be better off not living. The coq10, magnesium, and l-carnitine, helped for awhile, but I'm so bad now, that they don't make much difference. I do hurt worse without them, but it's a minor difference. I wish you luck with yours getting better.
