New form of CoQ10

Postby bpsmith » Tue Dec 12, 2006 8:19 pm

Does anyone know anything about Life Extension Foundation's new Super BioActive CoQ10 Ubiquinol? They say that it is considerably more effective at raising blood levels that other products. Their site looks like it has good information, but also seems to tie in every article with product sales marketing.

Hi B P Smith,

This is the technical (chemistry) explanation of the 'Q Cycle':

This is another article about Ubiquinol:

Not sure if Ubiquinol is superior to CoQ10... Still searching.

This new form of coenzyme Q10 could increase bioavailability by as much 800 percent. For instance, a 25mg dose of ubiquinol-10 would be the equivalent of 200mg of ubiquinone-10. However, the much higher cost of super bioavailable CoQ10 still might offset the benefits. Also, be aware, some forumlations might contain some trans-fats in order to reduce oxidation, and increase shelf-life.

Transfats? Somebody took off their thinking cap on that one! Those conspiracy nuts look more reasonable all the time.
