Testosterone - Scientists find 20-year Loss of 1% Annually

Postby flacorps » Wed Nov 01, 2006 10:49 am

According to Reuters, Dr. Thomas Travison and colleagues from the New England Research Institutes in Watertown, Massachusetts found that men's testosterone levels have been declining 1% annually for 20 years. They are at a loss to explain the cause.

Didn't statins start to gain a foothold 20 years ago?

Yes, Lovastatin was first marketed in 1987:

Statins killed my T

Postby bomber70 » Tue Nov 07, 2006 5:24 pm

Yes. I'm proof. Statins killed my testosterone levels to that LOWER than an 80 year old man. I am only 36 and now take anabolic steroids every day (by prescription) just to feel like a man. There is a lot of reference material on how low cholesterol = low testosterone. Statins ARE CRAP from a number of angles. Taking away your T is a Nasty side effect that affects me daily.

This same subject came up over on healthboards dot com, and several posters noted that statins may have something to do with it. There are other hypotheses as well.
