That all depends on what you're doing it for:

To help restore nerve and muscle damage, from taking statins.

The link I posted mentioned treatment for Post Polio Syndrome, but it doesn't seem to be a conventional treatment for it:

I can't think of any reason that more oxygen would help my muscle damage. In fact, given all the talk about the value of ANTIoxidants, it even seems like it might even be a bad idea.

WoodyAcres,

I haven't seen much about results from hyperbaric oxygen treatment. After my husband stopped the statins he continued to get worse for several months. He discussed hyperbaric treatment with his doctor. He was scheduled for surgery for carpal tunnel like pain in his hand/arm and the doctor wanted him to wait until after the surgery to consider the hyperbaric treatment. In the meantime, he increased his CoQ10 to more than 1000 mg/day and eventually added L-Carnitine. By the time of his next doctors visit his recovery was almost 100% and he never tried the hyperbaric treatment. There is one articule on this site that discusses this treatment along with other treatments http://www.spacedoc.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=87

Best wishes in your recovery.

I've had two different specialists tell me that it wouldn't help. They said that since my muscles are processing oxygen correctly currently, pushing more at it, would be like trying to pee on a forest fire. It doesn't matter how much oxygen you try to force into the muscles, if they can't process it anyway... That is the way it was described to me anyway...
