Estrogen and mitochondria

Postby David Staup » Tue Jan 07, 2014 2:38 pm

After I saw the effects of Benadryl I looked at the food choices I had gravitated to and found that most of the vegetables, herbs, and some of the spices are natural antihistamines.....

Some time back I came across the following about the effects of estradiol (a form of estrogen) on mitochondria:

"Estrogenic Control of Mitochondrial Function and Biogenesis"

Prompted by some posts on another health forum (autism) that has connections to mitochondrial dysfunctions, I started looking and found that virtually all of the veggies and herbs I use are either anti-histamine or pro-estrogen or both.
Testosterone also plays a role here but it's beginning to look, to me, that estrogen is the bigger player, even in men.
