Could our new Moderator "pisoias" introduce themse

Postby Allen1 » Tue Oct 13, 2009 9:17 am

Would our new Moderator "pisoias" care to introduce themselves,

ie no previous posts to say who you are or what you expect or would like to see happening with this forum etc. I just noticed that we now have a moderator and it would be nice to know who is keeping things working the way they should and maybe a little about yourself as we are all known to each other via our health issues and although we don't always agree with each others ideas, it doesn't stop our friendship from growing.

A few words would be greatly appreciated, Allen ;)

It is just a temporary measure, a programmer with no subject matter knowledge. A lot goes on in the background to keep the board running and spam free. The moderator will be checking technical aspects to make sure everything is working correctly for the next few weeks.

Most regular posters already put an * in front of web links like this:
This makes the link not live and requires cut and paste. The reason for doing this is that spammers use message boards to provide backlinks to inappropriate or non-relevant sites and there is no point encouraging them by allowing live links. Also long live links distort the page and make horizontal scroll bars appear for that thread. So doing this when the poster adds a link means we don't have to come along afterwards and add the *.

Apart from that the usual rules of being civil and no personal attacks still apply but this is a good forum and the contributors police themselves very well.

Thanks for the reply and the explanation spaceadmin,

I thought it may have been another poor soul like the rest of us who had gone down the same route to losing both physical and mental abilities with the wonder drug we know as statins. On the plus side, it is good to know that someone who doesn't suffer from any of our problems will look into keeping the site looking and working smoothly the way it always has (we don't really see what needs to be done in the background) :)

All the very best,
Allen :)
