Dear Friends
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the latest research blog from The Patients Voice.
In this research blog we are finding out the opinions of users of the statin family of medicines. These are commonly used in the treatment of high cholesterol and hypertension.
It would be really great if you could have a look at the blog and add your experiences and opinions

Belinda,

On your website ,it states " The government, pharmaceutical companies and medical providers are interested in knowing people’s opinions to improve their services."
A quick perusal of your membership reveals that most of them are from the pharmaceutical companies (*http://www.bhbia.org.uk/AboutUs/Committee/tabid/141/Default.aspx)

Your company does not conduct clinical (scientific) research to find a cure or make a scientific finding on the effects, but rather to conduct surveys for marketing purposes for (obviously) the durg companies. Such marketing studies are generally intended to assist the drug companies to device marketing plans to effectively sell their products.

I looked at your Research papers and they are not academic(scientific )papers and would never make it in a truly scientific journal.

According to the EC Directive 95/46 , you need to state the purpose for the research. Which drug companies are you conducting the reserach for and for what purpose?

All,

in addition to what sylviak found I found the following which shows they offer healthcare givers payment for opinions!!!!!!

Joining The Healthcare Professionals Voice will enter you into a community of fellow healthcare professionals who participate in medical market research from time to time. The research could range from being in the form of online surveys to other types of interviews, like focus groups or face-to-face interviews.

In particular we are looking for physicians, consultants, specialists, nurses, pharmacists, surgeons , paramedics and hospital managers to join us and take part in our healthcare marketing research projects. But anyone is welcome to join us and take part in our projects.

We reward participation in our surveys with either cash or vouchers so giving you a great reason to join The Healthcare Professionals Voice.

I'd think twice about wasting my time

David

Sylviak and David, I agree with you 100%.

Below is a quote from their website.

"The government, pharmaceutical companies and medical providers are interested in knowing people’s opinions to improve their services. That is why Patient’s rights and opinions about their treatments are fundamental to help pioneer the future services the health care sector provides.

This is where a medical market research panel like The Patients Voice comes in."

I have no useful information to add, but I am charmed by an image of "Belinda" gnawing off her own leg to escape the trap she has stepped into.

GREAT Catch!

"Dear Friends" indeed!
