By RON WINSLOW

Two decades after the first cholesterol-lowering drug known as a statin hit the market, a major new study is poised to reshape the landscape for the world's best-selling class of medicines.

"The 17,802-patient study was halted last spring, much earlier than expected, after a planned interim check found substantial reductions in deaths, heart attacks and other serious events among patients taking the drug compared with a placebo."
Right, wouldn't want to finish it and risk highlighting a bunch of longer-term side effects.

Not enough in the article to assess the study (as planned for the "release"). Was it just against a placebo? Fish oil would likely have stomped Crestor and there would have been no side effects to worry about except for improved health and quality of life. More and more doctors are going to have to start deciding for themselves -- individually -- whether or not to be part of the criminality. Culpability is starting to become real. It will be interesting to watch.

It never ends with these people . Just give it to people who have normal levels too, that way they can have side effects and then they can sell them drugs for the extreme pain and suffereing these wonder drugs cause to some people.

We must pass on the torch of knowledge where and when we can.

Right on the nose, em.

Try this one too. Not all professional, educated individuals are swallowing this horse pill.
