Advicor and cognitive/memory impairment

Postby Txflamingo » Thu Dec 29, 2005 3:10 am

Have been taking Advicor for about a year. Have been taking 2x 500/20 at bedtime for past 6 months. I seem to have developed trouble with memory and doing simple things requiring sequencing of activities. I am 60 yro male. Things like typing are much more difficult. Straightening up in kitchen takes real mental effort. I am headed to PCP tomorrow. I think I will ask to discontinue Advicor. I'll tell doc about this web site.

Also tell your doc that ALL statins (not just Lipitor) can cause cognitive decline. Advicor is part statin (lovastatin, aka Mevacor).
