NEW STATINS on the horizon?

The link below refers to a NEW category of statins in the pipeline. The abstract doesn't get into specifics, and the entire paper is available for $96.00 (I'm not buying it). I will bet that the NEW drug is the OLD drug with CoQ10 and perhaps a few other 'additives' designed to poop out a new patent. Remove the **

In this last week I have had 2 different doctors tell me there are new cholesterol lowering drugs out there that are NOT statins... I want to know what they are!

Wrong premise (i.e., the disproven "Lipid Hypothesis") and wrong authority (i.e., the discreditied NCEP).

Cat mom2, are you worried about your cholesterol levels? If so, what are they?

I don't have a clue what mine are right now and I am blown away by these doctors, without even knowing what they are, are talking statin drugs to me (or other cholesterol lowering drugs). They are cramming this stuff down our throats.... it is disgusting!

I did allow them today to draw blood just to see what my cholesterol levels are.. I know whatever it is, they won't be happy about it. To bad!

I was wrong, they are happy! My total was 228! To low for me so I am fixing to go get me some fried chicken and a big chocolate cake!!
