Coenzyme Q10 - AGAIN!!! Can anyone help please for UK?

Postby peterpan » Wed Sep 24, 2008 3:02 pm

Hi,
I live in UK and have a history of CHD with SEVEN Stents inserted. Mt Total Cholesterol and Ratios were WAAAAAAAAY too high. I am on Atorvastatin 40mg and previously had muscle pain. My CK is within NORMAL limits.

I have been taking MASSIVE doses CoQ10 - approx. 1200mg daily. This has cost me more than I can afford!
I saw a company called WholeHealth on Spacedoc Adwords for Pure Microcrystalline Pharm. Grade CoQ10. 300mg. This was a tiny fraction of my previous costs. I bought 6 bottles.

I'm not sure, but there has been SOME muscle pain recently - especially on rising.

I note other comments in the Forum mention using CoQ10 in OILS!

Could it be the Crystalline form is not being absorbed?

I note another Adwords on Spacedoc for UK Supplier of Japanese OIL based CoQ10.

Has anyone any knowledge of the forms of Q10 which are best absorbed?

Thanks
Peter UK (BSc.)

This is what my Cardiologist recommends, and he is a Statin-wise (one of the few) physician. It is UbiquinOL and said to be the most bio-available product currently on the market. Ray Holder (another member of the forum) uses something else - Ubiquinone. Both are Kaneka products - the best CoQ10 products available.

Don't include the asterisks when you link.

It is expensive, but you may try a bottle and see if there is a difference in your condition.

Best,

Hello Peter, I get my Kaneka Q10 (150 x 100mg gelcaps) from iHerb in the 'States. They have proven to be a reliable and economical source. I prefer to pay their very reasonable shipping costs on individual jars rather than tax & charge on a multi jar order

I take 900mg daily to keep myalgia at bay.

It is not going to be cheap anywhere if you are taking that much as coq10 is not cheap , this is a very reasonable place for all your vitamin needs

I get my Q10 from the same place as Brian, iHerb. I use Healthy Origins 300 mg x 60 which are priced at just below $30. With the £--$ rate at something like 1.75, that keeps just within the £18 UK custom free limit. If you go above that figure, you will be liable to have to pay £8 fee to Royal Mail for collecting the duty, and then the duty, which starts at about £3, so I order that size every 20 days, it's cheaper that way in the long run.

This Q10 is in Gelcap oil based form, and very reliable.
