Apparent neuropathy even on very low dose

Postby prof » Mon Dec 05, 2005 3:11 pm

Well, my Lipitor experiment has come to an end. Although it certainly was effective in reducing CL (whatever that means), I have apparently developed early signs of a neuropathy. If this is true, it happened on 5 mg. and then 2.5 mg. of Lipitor for less than three weeks. Neurologist thinks there is a good likelihood induced by Lipitor.

So now that I'm off, can someone tell me Dr. G's "recipe" for trying to reverse such side effects. I realize they might not _be_ reversible. In the studies I've seen, situations like mine are reversible in slightly over 50% of the time (based on Dutch studies). And who knows how long it may take.

Thanks,

Hi Prof,

CoQ10

I think you mentioned you already take about 250 mg?
Increase until you notice improvement.
The only side effect I am aware of is that CoQ10 can lower BP, so if your BP is natually low or you take BP meds, you would want to monitor BP as dose is increased.

Thanks, Fran. On one of the threads here, I think someone mentioned something else too....gluco-somethingorothers......I couldn't find the thread.

L-Glutamine

My husband takes 2,000 mg daily (split dose).

Most of the documentation is on "muscle building" websites.
We've noticed improvement in both muscle recovery and improved memory.

Short narative on L-Glutamine:
