Pfizer Is Sued Over Lipitor Marketing

A former Pfizer Inc. official in a lawsuit accused the company of illegally boosting sales of its top-selling drug Lipitor through an elaborate campaign of misleading educational programs for doctors.

This is good news but I wonder how much this will get the doctors to change their bad prescribing habits. If the doctors don't change, the patients still get harmed.

Somehow, all the negative reports on these statins get no more than a brief mention on a back page somewhere. Those doctors will still believe what they have been told by the drug makers and continue to push them on unsuspecting people because they are being made fools out of by them!
