Rheumonologist or internist

Have any of you seen a rheumy that has helped you more than an internist? My internist can't seem to understand I need prednisone longer than 6 days-

To Bunnylady: I have been to a rheumy, been the prednisone route. He was quite happy to put me on the meds. My experience with prednisone has been that it gives you a false sense of well being, and you overdo things, and then pay for it for days afterwards. There is also the emotional aspect involved. You think you're getting better, and when the prednisone "window" closes, there is the disappointment when the pain returns, and for me the pain seemed worse. Please do some research on Prednisone because it has some serious side effects also.
